What do James Bond and roller derby have in common?

The Gallatin Roller Girlz invite YOU to find out at GoldenSkate, a James Bond/Espionage themed roller derby bout, Saturday, August 23rd against the Hellgate Roller Girls from Missoula. This is the first time the two teams have faced each other on the track and it’s sure to be a memorable battle!

GoldenSkate takes place at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds Haynes Pavilion. Doors are at 7pm, Bout begins at 7:30pm. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door, Kids 12 and under are free. Advanced sale tickets are available at tart in the Emerson Center, Cactus Records, online HERE and from any roller girl or guy.

This family friendly event will feature food vendors, a no host bar by the Zebra, music by DJ Bones, National Anthem performance by Bridger Bells and halftime entertainment by Infusion Belly Dance. As always, there will be games and prizes including the Best Seat in the House raffle and a chance to win a sweet Adirondack ski chair!

A portion of proceeds from GoldenSkate will benefit Reach, Inc.

The Gallatin Roller Girlz, a 501(c)3 federal non-profit, achieved WFTDA (Women’s Flat Track Derby Association) apprenticeship designation this January and are currently working to achieve full WFTDA membership – allowing for ranking at the national and international level.

Are you interested in getting involved with the Gallatin Roller Girlz as a league skater or referee? Join us for our eight-week Fresh Meat (i.e. New Skater) Boot Camp. Enrollment takes place from August 4-14 and costs $100 which includes skater insurance. Learn how to skate, fall and safely maneuver on your skates – this camp is non-contact. Graduates of the Fresh Meat Camp are eligible to continue on to the 8 week Derby 101 camp where skaters learn contact skills and strategy. Skaters must attend the full 16-week combo and graduate successfully to be eligible to be a league contact skater.
